A Midsummer’s Dream is celebrating its 5th Chapter in 2016, and what a way to celebrate! An amazing musical lineup, one amazing day, surrounded by amazing people, and to cap it all off. The City will be presenting ‘The CBC and The Tragically Hip present ‘The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration’, right after A Midsummer’s Dream finishes at 8pm.

Tragically Hip fans will be able to watch the iconic band’s finale concert live at Gage Park.
The Saturday Aug. 20 show — which will be broadcast by CBC — will be live-screened for free at the park band shell from 8:30 until 11:30 p.m. (weather permitting).
This is the final scheduled show for the iconic Kingston, Ont.-based band; a culmination of the “Man Machine Poem” tour that was scheduled earlier this year after frontman Gord Downie announced that he is battling brain cancer.
The city advises people that the broadcast will immediately follow the “A Midsummer’s Dream” colour festival in the park — which will include “colour throws” and may leave remnants of non-toxic colour powder on the ground.
This will be an alcohol and smoke-free event, the city says. Families are welcome (though pets are discouraged), and are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs.
